Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast is the best SW game ever and I’m happy to die on this hill.

I'm hoping my daughter (she's currently 2.5 and loves Bluey) will grow up to love gaming and DnD just like me. On a side note I finished Ashoka this week. No spoilers obviously but I enjoyed it but realized about 2 episodes in that it helps if you've watched Star Wars Rebels.

Father of a rambunctious (to put it mildly) 3.5 year old here. He loves ipad games and have found a couple of decent enough games on there but have been starting to consider bringing him over the world of Switch. Are there any Games you'd recommend?

This is definitely time well spent! 1000% The Lego games are special, especially The Skywalker Saga. I haven’t had time to dive into that one, but I’ve had my eye on it. I’m currently playing Disney Illusion Island with my five-year-old son, and he’s loving it! I know that Star Wars will keep you busy for quite some time, but I definitely recommend playing Illusion Island next, or if you need a break from Star Wars.

I just discovered your newsletter and love what I’ve read so far, so I subscribed. I’m going to read your Bluey post next!

I don’t like spamming, but I’d like to share my blog with you. I write on Medium. https://gamingworker.medium.com

Cheers!

(Is it ok for me, a woman, to comment here? 🫣)

My brother prefers that his kids play video games to watching TV: because video games are active, TV passive.

No wonder, after our childhood. We both learned NSEW from computer & video games. How to read maps. Weird words like “portcullis”. How to play real-life games like rock paper scissors.

I’m still learning from video games. If I want to pick up some more Japanese, I can set voice, and sometimes text, to Japanese.

You are more than welcome to comment here! I think most of my map reading skills came from gaming too.

This *is* the substack I've been looking for... Our twins are 3.5 and I'm planning out their (optional) gaming future at the moment. This is was a good read and an excellent input into my thinking, so thank you.
