This was an excellent read, Kevin. This has opened my eyes to a new concept but it definitely something I feel will help me with my own parenting journey. This was a topic I would have never considered without reading The New Fatherhood, but am interested to find out about taking the first steps in future newsletters.
Thanks Kevin. As someone who, as you say, has taken a "macrodose," it was one of the best, most unique experiences of my life. And opened up avenues about family/love that I still feel like I can tap into today, several years later. I read Pollan's book, loved it, and his reflections were one of my inspirations for exploring this world.
This is a lovely, measured primer for parents and non-parents alike. It takes courage to 'come outta the closet' about intentional psychedelic use, especially in a culture that stigmatizes much that it does not understand.
Love how you spoke to the irony: sometimes, the best way to stop abusing drugs - or to allow the self-serving Ego to take a backseat - is by taking yet another 'drug', this one from the ancients. The care and attention you put into this essay is evident. Deep bow, brother.
Good job Kevin. This Introduced me to a new concept and I like your thorough job of psychedelics history and opportunities. This was a topic I would have never considered without your essay. ( I am a grandma.)
Love this
