This could not be more on point. As the dad of two daughters (23 months apart), I have no other experience, but if sisters truly do fight less than I feel for all other dads out there as we seem to be almost constantly moments away from fury. On vacation this week, and the most popular fight is who showers first...Thanks for the reflection, it was nice to be reminded I'm not alone. Maybe only the fires of Mordor can cleanse this particular riddle.
My daughters are 20 months apart in age and inseparable even and especially when they’re fighting. Thankfully—maybe due to their pre-packaged temperaments and the particular combination they make together—most bickering and arguing resolves itself quickly. But when it doesn’t, I’ve somehow found myself telling them, “Girls! Enough of this! You cannot fight each other. The world will try to tear you down; sisters have to help each other.”
I don’t know where that came from—certainly not from the strip-me-naked-and-lock-me-out-in-the-front-yard approach my older brother took with me when we would fight. And I didn’t plan it ahead of time, but it seems to always open the door to reforming and renorming after the storming. Maybe there’s some wisdom in it.
I may sometimes substitute “tear you down” with “destroy you”, which I think definitely came verbatim from my wife.

“Channel your inner Elsa”. That’s a motivational poster if ever there was one! 😃

'The world will try to tear you down; sisters have to help each other." I think I will steal this one!
