Just finished the book, and the opener was brilliant. I loved the old rules, new rules dichotomy. It was a great way to kick off the summer. Good luck continuing to sell the book! I will pick up Lerner's for the next free read spot.
Hands down the best book I've read this year if not the past few. I told a friend the other day that I've thought about it every day since I put it down.
There were so many for me, too (including the passage with "stones made stonier" one you referenced), but the line below is one that I just loved:
"I told you this before. We extend the dream when we share it. You call it fiction, but it is more. Like the eyes, all dream are brown until they are shared."

I LOVE Ben Lerner and am about to start this. He's no Kevin Maguire, tho.
Haha no, he is not

You said there was "one line" that when I read it, I'd know. But there was so many! What was yours?

Haven't read "Transcription" yet but I'm intrigued.
