Father now. Grandfather in months from now. The "transformation" never goes away. it is constant, evolving, and forever rewarding in the good and the bad and the beautiful and the sad. Carry on, fathers!
Cannot emphasize enough your discovery of the power of meditation. In similar fashion, becoming a father has brought me closer to Jesus than I have ever been in my life. The moments of the day where stop all things, sit, and pray, are some of the most important “deprogramming” parts of my day. Especially when life seems to be going a million miles a minute, just slowing down and rising above the chaos is so valuable.
If you need another Pixar movie to sob along to, give Inside Out a shot, and be sure you have a full roll of paper towels at your disposal.
Oh yeah Inside Out got me good. We'd just moved to SF and the whole framing around "dad moves his daughter to the Bay Area to follow his dream of working an over-demanding tech job" hit a little too close to home.
First, I loved this. You hit on so many things, like always. I look forward to your newsletter and prompts.
Second, are you in my head? I just wrote about the importance of “feeling fully” which as a man, doesn’t come naturally to most, and when it does, it’s often a source of embarrassment. Thank you for sharing your journey with it.
Third, thanks for the shoutout! I greatly appreciate what you’re doing and happy to partake.
haha I'm not in your head, but since I've started exploring some of these things in public I'm always happy to hear them resonating with other dads on their own journeys.

That's very exciting to hear! Both on the continuing transformation and on your new changes too.
